The complete Arabic and Urdu text below is presented line by line. Read the translation alongside the Arabic so the recitation remains connected to understanding and reflection.
The words of Ziyarat use respectful salutations and remembrance. They invite the reader to recognise the spiritual example of those being addressed.
The text should encourage worship of Allah and a practical commitment to truth, justice, patience and good character.
Following the Urdu meaning can help readers move beyond pronunciation and reflect on the requests, testimony and salutations contained in the text.
A Ziyarat may generally be read during a physical visit or from a distance. Some texts also have particular recommended days, occasions or locations recorded in devotional source books.
This page does not turn a recommended practice into an obligation. Consult the linked source edition or a qualified Shia scholar for the detailed a‘maal of a particular date or shrine.
Choose a respectful place, make your intention, and read at a comfortable pace. Increase the Arabic text size with the reader control if needed and pause to consider the Urdu translation.
Facing the relevant shrine or the qiblah, observing ritual purity, and beginning with salawat are common respectful practices where appropriate. Formal rulings and exact prescribed repetitions should be taken from a recognised source or scholar.
The dependable benefit of attentive recitation is the opportunity for remembrance, reflection and renewal of moral commitment. Devotional sources may report additional rewards for particular Ziyarat.
Reported rewards are matters of religious tradition, not guarantees of health, wealth or a specific worldly outcome. Readers should avoid unsupported claims circulated without a traceable source.
